When celebrities are arrested for DUIs, it begs the question: Shouldn't they plan for a night of partying better by hiring a driver? And yet, year after year, celebrities continue to make the horrible decision to get behind the wheel after drinking. Below are just a few of the celebrities busted for a DUI in 2013.Troubled NBA star Lamar Odom's been no stranger to misfortune over the past several years. Between his flailing basketball career, rumored drug abuse and a possible separation from wife Khloe Kardashian, Odom's recent DUI comes as a surprise to few. On August 30, Odom was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after being pulled over for erratic driving on the Ventura Freeway in Los Angeles. He failed several field sobriety tests and refused to undergo any chemical tests. Odom pled "not guilty" at his arraignment on October 9. His pretrial hearing is scheduled for November 8.The Lohans are synonymous with DUIs and keeping drug rehab facilities in business. The only thing about the latest Lohan family drama is that it involves matriarch Dina -- not Lindsay. Lohan was arrested on two counts of DWI on September 12 in New York after she was pulled over for driving 77 mph in a 55 mph zone. Her blood alcohol level was .20, which is twice the legal limit in New York. Lohan pled "not guilty" at her September 24 court appearance, but she's due back in court at the end of October. She's having no problem getting around without a driver's license, though -- she was recently spotted riding bikes with daughter Lindsay in New York City. After pulling Miguel over in Los Angeles for speeding and dark window tint on August 15, officers suspected the singer was driving under the influence. His blood alcohol level of .10 was just above the legal limit. Miguel didn't appear in court in September, when his attorney pled not guilty on his behalf. The Grammy nominee's case will proceed on October 24. This wasn't the first controversy of 2013 for the R&B crooner, who dropkicked two fans while performing at the Billboard Music Awards earlier this year. The Teen Mom 2 star was arrested on St. Patrick's Day in her native Nebraska. Despite blowing a .147 on the breathalyzer, she publicly maintained she'd done nothing wrong. Abraham appeared on the Dr. Phil show shortly after the arrest, claiming she hadn't been driving but rather was sitting in her parked car when cops confronted her. But, the courts aren't buying her side of the story -- she struck a plea deal in June, which will keep her on probation for six months in lieu of jail time. She's also been ordered to six months of sobriety. No amount of fame or money seems to keep celebrities from calling a cab (or limo) after they've had too much to drink. With a few months left in 2013, there will no doubt be a few more famous faces nabbed for DUIs. Author Bio: Abigail Clark is an upcoming freelance writer.
